So you wanna be a rock star!

You like all the fame and glory that goes with sending highballs. Just know there are consequences.

Any one wanna try and come up with a flashy title for this pic?

I was thinking: This is what happens when you swallow a softball.

Oh and not my ankle. But I did carry the dude out of the forest.

That makes me feel like vomiting. Really, it does. Who is that? Which problem? Why?

Last weekend I met a guy who broke his tibia off a highball at the one boulder outside of Calgary. His rubber stuck well on the surface of his tilted crashpad so instead of his foot slipping his bone snapped. His whole tibia was sticking out of his leg. Gross. Hearing about that made me feel sick too.

I guess I could have given a bit more info... Lousy writer that I am. I didn't actually know the climber I was just walking in to warm up. And he needed a hand getting out. He was climbing Phat slab and pitched near the top. I carried him out. Which by the way is quite the workout and almost ended my day my arms were so pumped. I snapped that photo while taking a rest half way to the car. I'm sad to say I can't remember his name... Kyle.. Neil... something like that.

Matt - Pretty intense photo. Ugh. Can't tell from the photo - is the ankle right out of joint, or broken? I actually hope it was broken - if it is that far out of joint he'll never walk without a limp again, most likely. Pretty intense. Phat Slab, too. Whoa.

He claimed to hear a snapping sound, however he could wiggle his toes and I did see him rise his ankle up and down a little. I though it was badly sprained from personal experience however the amount of swelling and the speed of swelling was very interesting. The huge glob on the side of his ankle was just blood. I don't think his ankle had dislocated. Either broken or badly sprained. Though I did bump his ankle accidentally while carrying him out and he reacted vocally.
